Marshal A - South Downs Way - above Heyshott Down

Thanks very much for offering to come and help at the 5 Trails / 3 Trails races!

Can you please be a marshal for us, up on the South Downs Way (SDW)?  The location is at the top of Heyshott Down, ON the South Downs Way.

You can park in Heyshott (15 mins from race venue) and walk up. Heyshott parking location

The Ultra comes across the field and through gate, then goes STRAIGHT OVER the SDW - with these runners coming through from 9.45am onwards. (Ultra is a rolling start, so runners will be very spread out) The sweeper runner for the Ultra will let you know they are at the back of the field and everyone has passed - you can take the Ultra signage down when they do to help avoid confusion for the Half runners!

The Half comes across the field and through gate, then they turn LEFT to go along the SDW.  They start en-masse at 11am and will be here from midday onwards.  There is a sweeper in the Ultra and should be on the Half too - they will let you know they are the sweeper so you can stand down!

The Half runners race numbers have a big green band across to help show which is which, but just about all the Ultra runners should have gone through by the time the first Half runners get to you so it shouldn’t be an issue to discern which is which!  We will obviously sign it at this point too.

If you could please pop to the race venue to grab a Hi Viz and paperwork from us, then make your way out to the location, and aim to be there by about 9.30-9.40am? You will need to leave the race venue around 8.45am to get to your position comfortably.
