What -  The 'Penrose Loop' is a well known and loved route to run or walk, and makes for a perfect race!  This is an approximately 10k race on the Trail around the Loe Pool, Cornwalls largest natural freshwater lake.

Starting from the Festival site at Degibna, the route goes into woods of the East side of the pool.  Following the main path around the edge of the lake you make your way to the coast, cross the beach and return via the tracks and hill side path of the Penrose Estate, to join the metalled tracks before entering the woods and the final climb back up to the Festival site and the finish!  Route map here.

There will be a Freedom Racing 'buff / wrag / multi-functional headwear' as race memento!

The Penrose estate has been cared for by the National Trust since 1974, thanks to public support from many people including our members, visitors and team of volunteers.   With 17 miles of footpaths and bridleways to walk, pedal and ride, acres to explore, a bunkhouse for those group stays and a weekly parkrun, there is plenty to do all year round.   If you would like to support the National Trust’s work looking after the Penrose estate you can support their current coast path project, become a member or donate.  Find out more from www.nationaltrust.org.uk/penrose, www.nationaltrust.org.uk/activecornwall
